Hi, I’m Annamo — and if you’re here, you might be wondering who I am and why I do this work.
I came out at 18 and am now 49, which means I’ve lived through many generations of non-acceptance as well as today’s evolving, more inclusive views of the LGBTQ+ community. Those experiences have shaped not only who I am, but why creating safe, affirming spaces matters so deeply to me.
I’ve been married to my amazing wife, Tyra, for five years as of this past November. We were married in our backyard, under the fall stars, surrounded by love — simple, meaningful, and completely ours. It was absolutely magical.
This year, as we celebrated our anniversary, I re-proposed to her. And she said yes — again. 💜
Lived Experience Matters
For many LGBTQ+ people, weddings and life celebrations come with complicated emotions. Joy, excitement, and love can exist right alongside fear — fear of being judged, misunderstood, or asked to make ourselves smaller to fit someone else’s expectations.
I’ve lived that reality. I know what it feels like to question whether a space is safe, whether language will be inclusive, or whether your love will be fully respected. That lived experience is at the heart of everything I do as an officiant.
What “Affirming” Truly Means
Being LGBTQ+ affirming isn’t just about saying “yes” to officiating a ceremony. It means:
Using inclusive, non-gendered language
Respecting pronouns and identities without explanation
Honoring chosen family
Never making assumptions
Creating a space where you don’t have to educate or defend who you are
Your ceremony should feel like a reflection of you — not a script that was never meant to include you.
Why I Became an Officiant
I became an ordained officiant because I believe love deserves to be celebrated openly, safely, and joyfully. Every couple deserves a ceremony where their story is honored and their identities are respected — without hesitation or compromise.
Whether you’re planning a wedding, vow renewal, elopement, or life-affirming ceremony, my goal is to create a moment that feels genuine, meaningful, and entirely yours.
A Safe Place to Say “Yes”
Love has always existed in our community — even when acceptance did not. Today, we get to claim space, joy, and celebration on our own terms.
If you’re looking for an officiant who understands, who listens, and who will honor your love exactly as it is, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
Because your love isn’t just valid — it’s worth celebrating.
If you’re planning a ceremony or simply have questions, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to connect, answer questions, or help you explore what feels right for you.
